Monday Mania - Gratitude = Thanksliving

I had the pleasure and great opportunity to visit First Baptist Church in Enid with a message delivered by Pastor Keith Miller.  I heard the message twice and it was a great word of God both times.  So Pastor Keith...thank you for letting the Word of God...stir your soul to bring truth to our lives.

The important message was the challenge for those within ear shot to live our lives with gratitude.  It is something we forget about when we don't remember what God has done and pride laced entitlement enters our lives.

He taught us how to turn our "got-to's" into "get-to's", and our responsibilities into opportunities.  It's a shift in perspective.  Is your grass green on this side of the fence or on the other side?

"Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live." 1 Thessalonians 5:18-19 (MSG)

Wait...did you catch that..."no matter what"...in all circumstances we are to be thankful and have a grateful heart...because get this....we don't deserve....anything.  And being thankful in all circumstances is God's will for us.  Yes, this is His best at work in our lives...to be thankful ...no matter what.

Again, because we don't deserve God's goodness and grace.  We.don't.

Gratitude is important and should be a higher priority than it is because..
  • It raises the level of our humility ~
  • It restrains our immortality~
  • It invites God's presence~
This heart was humbled to the point of conviction once again as I was faced with the truth of my own ingratitude of a loving always grace-filled Savior who shed His blood for me.

I am grateful...no matter what.  What are you grateful for?
